natural waves and curls

We all know curly hair can be a curse and a huge bonus all at the same time. One day it curls perfectly and the other you just end up throwing it in a bun to hide it from the world. I'm currently sitting on my couch waiting for my hair to dry and it occurred to me that I have a very specific routine on how I deal with my natural curls. So here are a few tips and tricks to avoid having crazy 80s frizzy lion hair (which is what I look like in the morning! Hah)

First things first, for this hair style you have to shower in the morning. You can't sleep on wet hair or style this at night and hope it lasts. Doesn't work. So what I usually do is use my coconut oil hair mask the night before and sleep with it in overnight. That way my hair has  added moisture  to help avoid frizz.

Next is to wash your hair to get all the oil out, and use a really good conditioner. One that helps with frizz, adds protein, all that good stuff. Today I used Joicco Kpack reconstructing shampoo and conditioner.

Leave your hair in the towel no longer than 10 minutes. You want it to be damp but not dripping. Take your hair out of the towel and flip your hair over a couple times (today I did it 6 times) to loosen up the roots and seperate the strands.

Don't touch you hair!!! Touching your hair will immediately add frizz and mess with the natural curl. Adjust yours bangs if need be but be very careful not to touch it too much.

I used to use products that you "scrunch" into your hair. Now this method is very effective in getting a great curl and hold, but it can sometimes add frizz from touching your hair as well as the products tend to leave my hair crunchy, which I don't like. Of all the products I've tried, and I mean I've tried them all, the unite scruncha gel is the best. It's that perfect mixture between gel and mouse and adds even more curl to my hair than I have naturally without adding crunch. If you want extra curl, try this method.

What I did today and what I prefer to do is the "no touchy" method! For this you need an anti frizz product that you can spray. This is where the "it's a 10, leave in miracle treatment plus keratin" has become my little miracle product. It's super thick, sprays on, adds moisture, shine, fights frizz and let's my hair dry naturally into a beautiful mess!

After you spray your hair generously, go sit somewhere. Don't move your hair a lot. Maybe write a blog post or something. After about 15 minutes or so, depending on your hair, you can check to see if it's starting to dry.

After it's dry you can touch it all you want. Comb it with your fingers to soften it, run a flat iron through the ringlet in the bangs (I hate that) and check for pieces that needs touch ups.

That's it! Super easy way to get that styled curled look without actually doing anything.

L'Oreal Voluminous Butterfly Lashes Review

I've always been a fan of L'Oreal mascara, so when I heard about a new version of the voluminous mascara I knew I had to try it.

L'Oreal describes the brush as a revolutionary butterfly brush with asymmetrical lash line shape that extends and lifts outer corner lashes to achieve the wing out look.

I do agree that the wand is a very unique shape and I can see how it would help target the outer lashes. I don't know if it specifically made my lashes wing out but I did really like that is was easy to reach the outer lashes. The formula is very nice as well, it's a middle formulation, not to dry or wet. Lasts a long time, how ever by the end of the day I do notice it starting the flake off a bit.
As you can see, my natural lashes are a light colour, quite thin and long. They're are pretty much see through at the tips which can be very frustrating. And I just love the results. I love how long and separated they are. I did 2 coats here and they didn't clump at all.

Overall I would definitely recommended this mascara!! 4.5/5 for me!

Spring haul

Its time for a haul!! I just love spring!! and fall.... i think theres something about spring and fall to me that is just so special! maybe its the transition... since fall and winter are so alike as well as spring and summer. Fall and Spring are the transition into new fashion seasons and i love them!! I'm rambling... Lets get started!

I stopped in at Sephora because i had a 15% off email coupon for being a VIB member. In other words,  I spend way too much money there so they send me coupons so I spend even more money there. Its a marketing genius I tell you!! I wanted a nighttime treatment that's good for oil control, brightening and moisturising. Basically I wanted an all in one product. Ive tried a couple Ole Henriksen products before and loved them so much, so that was the brand I wanted to try!

I went with the Ole Henriksen sheer transformation! It has vitamin C, licorice root and pea extract to help brighten, oxidize, and fight off environmental damage. I also got a 3 in 1 nail buffer... because I like nail buffers.

The next place I went was Bath and Body Works because I had another coupon! 20% off!! The 3 wick candles were on sale for 2 for 25 and I wanted a small jar candle for my bedroom. Now my whole house smells like delicious fresh picked fruit!
Polemlo grapefruit mason jar, and market peach and garden strawberry 3 wicks.

I then went to Victorias Secret... Because I had ANOTHER coupon!! yaaay. I recently went shopping with my sister in law to get more Pure Seduction body wash and accidentally stumbled upon this little gem. Coconut passion <3 how I never found this before... i don't know... it baffles me considering my obsession with coconut. I wanted a few more products from this line and the mini ones were so cute and came with a super adorable makeup bag!

I finished my day at American Eagle. I had no coupon for this.... which made me very sad. I got a simple pair of jeans and some denim shorts!

Hope you enjoyed this little haul!! Are you excited for spring?!

Kisses from me and my dog
